sorry i haven't posted much. i'm working a graphic novel and i'm not allowed to talk the book or show people any of the work. so instead i posted a drawing i did for a commission piece i'm doing for a friend. after drawing the geisha, i wasn't really feeling the painting, so i've decided to change the pose; the subject will be the same.
ok, that's all for now.

the pic looks good. the reason why your face is not popping is because you don't have any strong shadows. you pretty much use neutral colors and shading. if you are going to throw down those tans and browns, warm colors, then put some cool colors inthe shadows, blues and blue greens. also, your eyes have no strong shadows around them so that is making the whites of your eyes look too strong, giving the face these glowing white almonds.
overall the piece is good. the patterns are good and contrast well.
i hope this helps a bit.
